There is a trick that has been rumored for years among poker players, the 20 dollar trick. What is it? Well, it's easy. The assertion is that when you arrive to a Vegas hotel, you leave $20 in your passport at check in and tell the employee to "take care of us". The hope is to get some sort of complimentary upgrade. Does this work? Well some people have diffrent stories, here's mine from last night..
Actually, we can go further than that. Me and Oscar Silow tried this two years ago at the shitty hotel Gold Coast. However it failed miserably when the guy thoguh we have forgotten the note in the passport and gave it back to us without catching the drift.
However luck turned yesterday when me and Betsafe VIP Pim Van Wieringen checked in at Palazzo. I told Pim about the trick but he was a bit skeptical.
I proceeded to give the employee my passport and told him "would you mind putting me on the highest available floor with strip view". The guy opened the passport, saw the $20, pocketed it and said he would check what was available.
"Oh, we have a room just opening up at level 42, with strip view. It's complimentary on us, would you like it?" Don't mind if i do :o).
Pim saw this and instantly took a $20 on his own that he subtly gave to the same employee, wishing for one of the ground rooms that have Terrence. Now, these rooms are fucking incredible with outdoor space for BBQs and stuff. And like magic, one of those rooms was available, free of charge. We also got complimentary late check out.
Thats how you win against Vegas.
